REAC Inspections Are Returning After A Six-Month Hiatus. What You Need to Know About Getting Inspection Ready REAC Preparation is something that used to be part of the everyday operations at HUD Properties. However, many properties suspended regular maintenance during COVID-19. This deferred months of vital repairs other than tenant reported emergencies. Now, REAC is starting to resume inspections, which means that property owners have to get their properties ready like never before. Getting ready for REAC is typically about double-checking regular maintenance. Now, it’s about doing maintenance catch-up and prioritizing repairs. It’s about putting safety first and making sure a property is well maintained and providing a safe living environment. What to Expect When Getting Ready for Your Next REAC Inspection REAC Inspections have been steadily changing over the last few years. The focus is changing from a risk-based assessment to a review of the quality and accuracy of proper regular maintenance. Some of these changes have been confusing, as the execution of the changes has been uneven at times. This combined with the NSPIRE demonstration program has left many unsure of what to do and what to expect from REAC Inspections. During this webinar, we’ll break down the expectations of what good, regular maintenance is, and how it intersects with REAC’s requirements. How Do I Know If I Will Get a REAC Inspection? REAC has released a Return to Operations plan, identifying which properties are eligible for inspection, based on both the type of property and COVID-19 data in the property’s county. We will discuss the specifics of the Return to Operations plan so you can have a better idea of when a REAC inspection might occur. Whether or not a REAC Inspection is coming in weeks, months, or years, now is the time to look towards getting properties inspection-ready at all times. This webinar is a terrific resource for both maintenance and managers alike, all looking for ways to ensure a safe and operable home for families during these difficult times. During this webinar, Scott Precourt of US Housing Consultants will discuss the best practices for getting ready for REAC under this unique set of circumstances. This webinar discusses:
