It's "Meet the Scholar" Monday!!!
Dayona Foster is a three time recipient of a NAHMA Scholarship (2017, 2018 & 2019). She is currently attending the University of District of Columbia working to complete her Associate of Science degree in nursing. This will allow her to sit for the licensing examination to be a registered nurse. She maintains a 3.77 grade point average. In 2018, she also attended the National Laser Institute and became certified in eight different areas of laser technology related to dermatological health. She is currently completing an internship at a Dermatology Office. She plans to gain some experience in labor and delivery before making a decision on her area of specialization. Dayona was recently elected Vice President of the Student Nursing Association at her school.
She is a life long resident of the District of Columbia and has worked a variety of jobs in childcare, retail sales and customer service to help pay her school expenses. Following the completion of her education, Dayona would like to provide nursing services at a hospital or medical practice in an under served neighborhood.
You'll get to meet Dayona in person at the NAHMA - National Affordable Housing Management Association Fall meeting in a few weeks!!!
