The various affordable housing programs’ rules can feel overwhelming and are confusing. During this training we will explore the differences between two of the most common affordable housing programs: HUD’s Multifamily Project based section 8 program and the low-income tax credit program. During this training we will review the following:
1) Key players (including who signs what agreements and monitoring)
2) Eligibility Criteria, with special attention to income limits and the student rules
3) How gross income is calculated
4) Verification methodologies
5) Forms
6) Rent structure (including what happens when you layer these programs)
7) Recertification
