Trainer: Melissa Harris
In the face of ongoing cuts to critical safety net programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and Meals on Wheels, low-income older adults and families are increasingly vulnerable to food insecurity, health disparities, and housing instability. This presentation will explore the vital role of Service Coordinators in affordable housing as frontline navigators and advocates who connect residents to essential resources, mitigate the impact of federal and state policy changes, and foster long-term stability. Attendees will also receive up-to-date information about when residents can expect to see benefits changes as a result of the Congressional Reconciliation Bill and which additional policies are being considered that could jeopardize federal and state benefits residents rely on.
