Speakers: Parveen Vohra Psychotherapist Parveen Vohra is a psychotherapist who received her Masters Degree from Central Connecticut State University in 2006. She is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Connecticut with an office in West Hartford. Her practice is an outgrowth of her experience as a therapist with a mental health/substance abuse agency for the past eight years. She is experienced in providing individual and group counseling as well as conducting comprehensive evaluations. Additionally, she has worked in research at Yale School of Medicine and at the University Of Connecticut School Of Social Work. Having education and training in psychology and counseling in areas of cognitive behavioral therapy, integrative and eclectic therapy she encourages empowerment and personal growth. Parveen sees a wide range of clients focusing on life transitions, work/career issues, relationship issues, parenting support, anxiety, depression, stress management and illness. In a comfortable and nurturing atmosphere, Parveen provides a highly personalized approach to address a person’s individual needs. She helps each client problem solve, gain insight and awareness and attain personal growth. Parveen values the mind-body connection as a resource, which when accessed has the potential to help people move into experiences of greater vitality, novelty, and more satisfying relations with themselves and others. Her clients appreciate her sincere, nurturing and insightful approach to therapy.

Speakers: Christine Taylor Elderly Coordinator at Wethersfield Town Hall Christine started in the newly made position of the Elderly Services Coordinator on July 31, 1984 and has been working for the Town since this time in this capacity and have implemented many senior/disabled programs and services including the Community Cafe program at the senior center , the newsletter, case management for seniors, food share, friendly shopper volunteer program, CAMEA, CT Municipal Agent for the Elderly organization, CHOICES in Wethersfield, etc. and belonged to the Board of Breakthrough to the Aging. Currently Christine coordinates the case management for seniors, Community Renewal Team Energy Assistance Program, Renters Rebate Program with the State of CT she supervises, recruits and trains volunteers for the Friendly Visitor and Friendly Shopper volunteer program, operation fuel , the Larrabee fund, UMARY programs here in Town; Swedish Relief Program, home front program, free MOW’S through the VNA’S United Way.
