DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \n  \nThis training will provide participants with best practice recommendations for monthly TRACS processing\, which will include identifying and resolving TRACS errors and managing subsidy receivables.  Throughout the training we will discuss how to read and understand a Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) ledger.  Additionally\, we will review how to read and interpret a Subsidy Payment Voucher (form HUD-52670) and corresponding Project Based Contract Administrator reports (including the HUD/CA Approved detail on a Subsidy Payment Voucher and the TRACS Transmission Report).  Next we will provide an overview of how to use and understand the MAT User’s Guide when attempting to troubleshoot TRACS errors.  The course will provide its participants with hands on experience reviewing and resolving a handful of common TRACS errors and solutions\, including resubmissions\, corrections to certifications\, and baseline certifications.  Finally\, we will conclude the training by providing a couple of examples of how to use the tools available to work with either a PBCA and/or HUD to research outstanding subsidy receivable balances and collect payment.

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \nTrainer: Debbie Piltch\, Piltch Associates\nIMPORTANT Requirement: Please bring a sample tenant file and calculator with you.\nPlease remember to remove any personal date from the sample tenant file. \nThe course will begin with an overview of the timing of a monitoring agency’s tax credit file audit\, the information they will be looking to confirm in the files\, the information monitors will request prior to the audit. We will also discuss how to review standard documents contained in a file to make sure there are no errors\, how to correct non-compliance and the type of information the monitor will request of the site prior to coming and/or on the day of the site visit. We will then review a mock file to go over the types of errors a monitor may find in a file and provide participants an opportunity to self-monitor the file(s) they bring. Please make sure that the sample file you bring has no confidential information (i\,e\, social security numbers\, bank numbers….) pertaining to the household.\nEmphasis will be placed on issues that monitoring agencies often focus on\, including incomplete applications\, recertification updates\, inadequate child support documentation\, inaccurate income calculations\, inconsistencies within a verification\, failure to maximize anticipated income\, late verifications and TICs signed after leases.
